Water (Nibi)
Water is seen as one of Earth’s most important elements and is associated with the southern direction.
Water represents the connection between all things. It is needed for drinking, cleaning, growth, transportation and many more areas of life.
In Indigenous culture, women are seen as the caretakers of the water. Women build connections with the water and honour the knowledge that all forms of water are sacred.
Nibi means water in Ojibwe. Whether it be rain or snow, we celebrate these changes and seasons!
