A Message from the President

With our recent announcement of the newly appointed COO, Charmaine McCraw, we are entering a season of positive change!

Over the past few months, our team has been hard at work on new projects and product developments in the works, including multiple IL Careers experiences. The IET team has delivered a range of workshops this summer with adults and youth at the OYEP summer camps.

There will be some exciting developments in the upcoming months so stay tuned! Miigwech for your continued support.

Connection to the Four Directions

Cedar

Cedar is associated with the southern direction as it represents protection and cleansing. It can be used in many ways. To purify the home, cedar can be burned. For health, it can be used in baths or in tea.

Cedar can also be used with other sacred medicines like tobacco. When it is added to a fire with tobacco, it becomes an offering and promotes clarity and communication. The crackle of the medicines calls the spirits to receive the offering. It can also be used in other ceremonies like sweat lodges.
